Program Description: Three officers are
assigned full time to four schools in the district. One
officer to the high
school, one to the middle school and one to share between
two alternative schools for middle and high
school age students. The
officers are the link
between law enforcement and the community schools
and a resource to the

suppress actions that
endanger the safety of those in the school system.

Program Name: TEAM Classes and
AFTERMATH classes

Program Description: TEAM classes are a
program developed by the Michigan State Police. The
program consists of
classes ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade.
The topics of the
classes are different depending on the age of the class.
Presently I teach all of
the sixth grade classes on school violence and the
transition from the
elementary school to the middle school.
I emphasize the
need to tell adults
about weapons, drugs and bullying in school.
I also teach
to the 8th grade classes
a Interactive CD called AFTERMATH. The
CD plays
out scenarios on a gun
in school, drugs in schools, bullying, and depression.
You see a scene and then you stop the CD and
have discussions on the
decisions that need to
need to be made.

Program Name: Youth Services Unit

Program Description: The Youth Services Unit
is a multi-jurisdictional unit made up of officers from
all law enforcement
agencies in Isabella County, including the Mt. Pleasant
Police Department,
Isabella County Sheriff's Department, Saginaw Chippewa
Tribal Police
Department, and the Michigan State Police Mt. Pleasant Post. The
unit is dedicated to the reduction of juvenile
incidents in Isabella county
through intervention,
leadership, guidance, and education.
This is
accomplished by having
school liaison officers in all schools in Isabella
County including full
time officers in four schools plus 2 officers rotating into
all elementary schools
on a weekly basis.
